September 21, 2026, Bethesda, Maryland USA – The Climate Intervention Environmental Impact Fund (CIEIF; www.cieif.org), which has contributed over $800,000 to fighting global warming through grants to climate innovators, is pleased to announce its transition from a private family fund to a fiscally-sponsored project. To expand its funding and long-term impact, CIEIF is partnering with Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs (SEE), a long-established public charity based in Calabasas, California, that is exempt from Federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. CIEIF can now accept tax-deductible donations. Donations to SEE earmarked for CIEIF will be directly channeled to support its grantmaking. CIEIF’s new Donations webpage is here .
“Partnering with SEE allows us to obtain tax-free donations from private donors, foundations, and others” said CIEIF’s Manager, Peter Jenkins. “And SEE brings decades of experience in non-profit administration. Our goal is to expand our grantmaking capacity and back even more innovative climate solutions with support from donors alarmed by the existential threat of global warming.”
CIEIF is a uniquely targeted fund that gives grants solely to fund environmental impact assessment (EIA), predictive impact modeling, and engagement efforts with potentially impacted stakeholders for innovative climate intervention technologies that are on the verge of field testing. It has funded a dozen grants across five rounds over the last three years, supporting a wide array of climate restoration technologies such as biochar in Pakistan, glacier intervention in Alaska, ocean alkalinity enhancement to drawn down CO2 in New Zealand, and many others.
